The Importance of a Well Stocked Larder or Pantry

Each and every week, before you go grocery shopping, you will need to check your larder or pantry.  There are many items that I, myself, insist on having on hand which will help me turn basic foods into something tastier.  There are also basic food supplies that you will need to keep at all times.  Below are two lists, which are just starter lists, of suggestions of what to keep at all times in your pantry.  These items will not only assist you in cooking but often help your meals to stretch further.

Whenever I see a particular good offer, like a buy one get one free, that is the time that I stock my pantry up with these essential food items.  Also, there are hundreds of spices out there which will turn the most boring ingredients into an exotic meal.  Usually they start from about $1 each.  So what I do is to pick up one or two every week with my groceries, and in a few short weeks I have a good array of spices.
