Just this week I was reading online about the epidemic of children going to school every day hungry and coming home hungry. I wasn’t quite sure how to interpret that to be honest. I wasn’t sure if there are that many people actually that poor, or that lazy. WIC programs provide nutritional breakfast ingredients for all young children and with the addition of food stamps, no child in America should go hungry, not ever.
With that being said, I decided to put together 2 very simple and CHEAP meal plans for one week’s worth of food for 2 children for 10 bucks or under. I will be using Walmart and Aldi prices, based on the time of writing.
Ingredients Needed (Week 1):
1 dozen eggs $1.00
Honey Nut Cereal $1.30
Gallon of Milk $2.89
8oz Sharp Cheddar $1.89
Loaf of Bread $0.85
Frozen Sausage Links $1.00
2lb Potatoes $1.00
Bowl of Cereal, 1 boiled egg, 1 slice of toast
Bowl of Cereal, 1 egg Cheese omelette
Bowl of Cereal, 2 sausage links, 1 scrambled egg, 1 slice of toast
